A year after the Semifinals, the Arellano University (AU) Lady Chiefs exacted revenge in an elimination matchup as they swept the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) Women’s Volleyball team (3-0) to hand the defending champions its second lost in the 92nd Season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Volleyball tournament held at The Arena, San Juan.

The struggling Lady Blazers were led by Ranya Musa, who supplied 12 spikes throughout the game. However, it was the appalling 32 errors that caused the defending champions their second loss of the season (25-21, 25-21, 25-21), handling the Lady Chiefs its seventh straight win for the season.

It was a sluggish game for Jeanette Panaga and the team as the Lady Blazers were outnumbered by the 39 scored attacks and four blocks of the Chiefs. Arellano’s team captain Rialen Sante alone scored 15 points, 14 points on attacks versus the ladies in green and white.

The Lady Blazers (6-2) look to recover from the humiliating loss as they continue their journey to defend their title.

They will go up against the San Sebastian College (SSC) Lady Stags (7-0) in last year’s finals rematch on January 25, at The Arena, San Juan.
