About 15 years since its last renovation, the Taft campus cafeteria is finally getting an upgrade starting on the second week of September.
Food stalls are temporarily relocated to the Greenway Square while the Taft campus cafeteria undergoes an expansion and redesign planned for the second week of September until January or February of 2017 according to the Logistics Support Office (LSO).
As stated by LSO head Grace Abiera, the student body should expect bigger spaces, a cleaner environment, a wider variety of food choices, and more concessionaires, once the renovations have been completed.
When asked for further details regarding the new design, Abiera revealed, “Actually, we [at the office] really don’t know the design yet, but you see there are function rooms in the second floor [and] we will open it.” She further stated, “ All the spaces will be for diners but there will be some petitions if you need space for function rooms.”
Abiera explained that the reason for the change lies with how long it’s been since the last time the cafeteria was refurbished, in 2001.
The designs from engineers and personnel designated to work on the cafeteria have yet to be disclosed in detail, but based on statements released by the LSO, students can expect a welcome change and improvement.
