Two different teams from the College’s Architecture program finished in second and fourth places among 42 other teams in an national architecture competition.
Benildean Architecture students bagged two awards for second and fourth places in the 2017 ARKWIZ, an annual national architecture quiz bee, held at the GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium, University of the Philippines-Diliman (UP-D), last March 18.
Coming in at second place were Serknight Benoya and Kenny Roger Laconza followed by fourth placers John Ramsu Miguel Marquez and Andrea Nicole Narca.
“At first we didn’t expect to be in the top 8, but fortunately, we qualified for the final round, garnering 135 points in the first round while the [second team from Benilde] garnered 130 points,” Benoya said in an interview with The Benildean.
The competition was divided into four categories: the easy round, right minus wrong round, wild card round, and the final round.
The top five finalists for this year are as follows:
1st place: National University
2nd place: DLS-CSB (Benoya and Laconza)
3rd place: Rizal Technological University
4th place: DLS-CSB (Marquez and Narca)
5th place: University of the East-Caloocan
ARKWIZ is a national architectural competition organized by the UP Architecture Forum, which is joined by different schools or colleges around the country.
