Coro San Benildo’s previous triumphs in various international competitions, especially in the 70th Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in United Kingdom last July 2016, secured them a spot in the 46th Florilège Vocal de Tours International Choral Competition, France from May 26 to 28.

According to the group’s company manager, Human Resource Management student Cheska Flores, they are set to perform at the Florilège Vocal de Tours International Choral Competition, a precondition of European Grand Prix for Choral Singing. The competition is one of the most renowned choral contests in the world, and Coro will be joined by other participants hailing from the United States, Ukraine, France, Spain, and Italy, to name a few.
Flores also added it has been the group’s honor to represent the school and the country in all their performances, locally or internationally.
“We felt really blessed and thankful when we found out that Coro qualified for this competition. Along with this comes our full acceptance of the responsibility to do our very best to represent the school and the country well,” she said in an interview with The Benildean.
According to her, the group has been rehearsing the new set of songs for the competition since the completion of their show Sermonem last February, which was also Coro’s official entry to Lasallian Arts Month.
Coro San Benildo invites the Benildean community to witness their fundraising dinner and concert entitled “Musique et Gastronomie” on May 12 at 7 pm, and May 13 at 12 noon and 7 pm at Vatel Restaurant, Hotel Benilde. The tickets will cost 1,500 pesos each and are inclusive of a formal dinner and seat for their send-off concert.
