The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) community welcomed the 93rd season of the oldest league in the country hosted by San Sebastian College-Recoletos (SSC-R) in the opening ceremonies, yesterday, July 8, at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City.
This season’s theme, Reignite: Bolder. Braver. Stronger, aims not just to reignite the love of youth for sports but also to reignite everybody to become greater in their lives according to Rev. Fr. Nemesio Tolentin, OAR, San Sebastian College Recoletos President.

This Season 93, the NCAA will be bringing the games straight to the schools themselves: there will be scheduled game days that will take place in the campuses of NCAA institutions.
Former Benildean athletes, Sunday Salvacion and Jonathan Grey, also made an appearance in the opening ceremony as part of the inspirational group of icons from different schools gathered, in replacement of the traditional guest speaker.
The opening ceremony introduced the first two games of the season, specifically, San Beda College (SBC) vs SSC-R, and Mapua University (MU) vs Arellano University (AU) in the Men’s Basketball tournament.
Meanwhile, the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Blazers are set to play against the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Altas on Tuesday, July 11.
