Between Philippine networks TV5 and GMA 7, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) chose to televise their upcoming seasons with the latter as they would be given utmost priority for airtime in the upcoming GMA Sports.

While TV5 is familiar with airing sports, NCAA was lured in by GMA 7 as the league is to debut on the channel’s soon-to-air GMA Sports. The network’s presentation committee head Chairman Felipe Gozon promised the league airtime of their weekend games and finals on GMA’s main channel.

An anonymous source said that TV5 could not give the same benefit for NCAA due to the University Athletic Association of the Philippines’ (UAAP) recent deal with the network.

NCAA 96 is bound to start in the second quarter of 2021.
