Currently a Benildean Multimedia Arts (MMA) student, fashion blogger, and figure skater Verniece Enciso triumphed in Skate Bandung held last October 31 in Indonesia, winning a total of seven (7) awards.

Garnering the Best Performance Award, Enciso performed “Bang Bang”, an Ariana Grande, Jessie J, and Nicki Minaj inspired routine, which was choreographed by her mentor Al Marinas since she was six years old.

Hot as ice

Encouraged by her grandfather, Enciso started skating at the age of six and that as soon as she stepped on ice, she fell in love with it instantly. But in 2009, she decided to take a break from Figure Skating to prioritize fashion blogging and her responsibilities as a college student. As the years went by, she then found the love for traveling and writing.

She shared that “last year, I suddenly missed my first love so I promised myself to rekindle with it. Few months back, I revived”.

Enciso became National Champion at the age of 10, winning the Novice Ladies Division in the 2005 Philippine National Figure Skating Championships.

In 2006, she was crowned “Miss Barbie Ice Princess,” and was also the Grand Champion of QTV Channel 11’s “Stars on Ice” with her partner actor Victor Basa.

At the age of 14, Enciso has already won 90 gold, 37 silver and 15 bronze medals from different international and national ice skating competitions.

Her recent awards include four gold and two silver medals, competing with representatives from Indonesia, China and Thailand.

Snowed Under, but Worth It

The popularity of blogging rapidly increased in recent years, with the growth of social media like instagram and tumblr.

At present, 21 year old Verniece and her 23 year old sister Vern Enciso, are known for their sense of style through their fashion blog:

Not only famous as fashion bloggers, the Enciso sister blog about their day to day adventures as they travel, sharing tips and must-try locations.

“To be honest, months of training for the competition was really challenging most especially that my sister and I travel for the blog”, Enciso explained.

Blogging since 2012, she continued on to share that the secret to this is time management and dedication. “I’ve done sacrifices like I turned down some projects for it, sleepless nights and I didn’t get to blog as much before. School will always be my top priority so I’d be in class all day and on ice all night, tiring but it was all worth it”, Enciso said.

Last August 2014, the Enciso sisters released their first lifestyle and fashion book entitled “V & V: A Life and Style Diary”.
