The Benildean Press Corps (BPC), the official student-journalists’ organization of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), won three category nominations at the 46th Student Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA). The announcement was made during a Facebook livestream event on Oct. 28.

The organization's magazine-journal, "The Benildean: Impulse" emerged victorious in the Best Student Organ for the college category, surpassing notable entries from various institutions including Batangas State University, Silliman University, and FAITH Colleges.

"The Benildean: Impulse" provided a profound analysis of impulsive decisions made amid political uncertainty and sociocultural trends, particularly examining the impact of the current administration and the lingering influence of former President Rodrigo Duterte's legacy.

Meanwhile, "Shades of Gray: Crossroads," BPC's literary folio, secured the Best Literary Publication award, marking a triumphant return to the category after five years. The publication, which competed against entries from Bataan Peninsula State University and President Ramon Magsaysay State University, explored the intricate relationship between fate and free will that young Filipinos experience in different facets of life.

Completing the organization's sweep, "Beyond Her Words: A Mother’s Day 2023 Film" directed by former BPC Video Producer Richard Soriano, claimed the Best Student Short Film award. The film, which stood out among entries from FEU Institute of Technology and Holy Cross of Davao College, masterfully portrayed the depth of maternal sacrifice and resilience.

The current win builds upon BPC's previous recognition at the 45th CMMA, where "The Benildean: Reacted" won the Best Student Organ. Meanwhile, Ad Astra, the sole organization tasked to create Benilde’s official yearbook and BPC’s sister organization, was also nominated in the same category with EMBARK 8, Benilde’s official Frosh magazine.

The CMMA, established in 1978 by former Manila Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin, continues to serve as a prestigious platform recognizing media excellence while promoting Christian values.

The 46th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) Awards Night will be held at CityState Tower Hotel in Ermita, Manila on Nov. 20.
