With the College commencing Benilde Mission Week this October, the Center for Social Action (CSA) spearheaded the Saint Benilde Romançon Community Engagement Awards (SBRCEA) for A.Y. 2024-2025 on Oct. 24 at the 5/F Theater, Design and Arts (D+A) Campus.
Now on its fourth iteration, the event is annually held to honor the achievements and participation of Benildean kapitbahayan and institutional partners, students, and volunteer associates on contributing to the Colleges’ mission of transformative community engagement.
Ms. Maria “Nicky” Veronica Templo Perez, Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Student Life (VPLMSL), opened the event as she commended the 33 Benildean kapitbahayan partners, 32 institutional partners, 84 student volunteers, and 50 volunteer associates who continue to uphold the College’s Lasallian values through active community engagement.
“Our community continues to thrive through the dedication of every Benildean,” she shared as she encouraged the continued collaboration for inclusive growth and empowerment.
Recognizing partners in service
Throughout the program, CSA recognized Benildean kapitbahayan from Zone 6 of Pasay City and Zones 79 to 82 of Manila, along with various institutional partners and volunteer associates for their unwavering support.
These partners, ranging from barangays and foundations to educational institutions and organizations, have collaborated with Benilde through outreach programs, the Community Service Program (CSP), and the National Service Training Program (NSTP), strengthening the College’s link between academic learning and social formation.
Volunteer associates who worked beyond their regular hours to serve the Benildean community such as CSP advisers, and mentors from the Alternative Learning System (ALS), were honored for their dedication to nurturing both academic and personal growth among students.
Recognition was also given to volunteers from projects organized by the Advocacy and Communications Unit of CSA, student volunteers, and student organizations for their active participation in social initiatives and creative outreach efforts.
Likewise, Benilde schools were acknowledged for their outreach programs, and offices for their collaboration with CSA in fostering service and advocacy. Finally, key partners and organizations were commended for their continuous support and shared commitment to advancing the College’s mission of transformative community engagement.
