The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) Lady Netters shook off an opening-set loss to outlast the University of Perpetual Help-DALTA (UPHSD) Lady Altas, 2-1, in the NCAA Season 101 Lawn Tennis Tournament today, Feb. 16, at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center in Malate, Manila.

Czarina Miraflor went first on the hardcourt to defend the Taft crown against Las Pinas’ Aries Jean Tanawan, but dropped the first set as the Lady Altas escaped with the opening set, 0-2.

Rising from the ashes, Kiana de Asis and Melody Dizon led a cross-court assault to reclaim the advantage against the ladies in maroon and gold, Aira Jane Nuguit and Kristina Bandolis, 2-0. Keeping the pressure behind the baseline, Lady Netters’ Joy Oligo secured the win as Lady Altas’ Rosenel Banawan watched as UPHSD’s stunner chance fell short, 2-0.
