The new website aims to cater to students and parents by adapting to the latest trends of digital media and by simplifying the overall browsing experience. “We adjusted some of the design elements so it can now be viewed in all devices even in the smallest screens and [those] with big resolutions,” said web developer Mr. Rin Espiritu.

Besides allowing users to view the website from different devices, squares were largely employed in the design to improve aesthetics and usability, claiming that the shape is “the most adaptive in web design”.

“We have a theme that is very reminiscent to Windows 8,” shared the website’s head developer Ms. Aya Caringal.

Developers of the website also redesigned how the College courses would be presented by having sliders on the program page because they wanted the students to associate the courses with the color of their respective departments.

The design planning started early January, and the next three months were allotted for the website’s production and launching.

Aside from reporting on the usual news, the website features the “Breakthroughs” section to increase exposure for award-winning Benildeans. For a chance at being showcased, students can to send their award or achievement details to media@benilde.edu.ph.

The new website also features art pieces of SDA students and recipes of School of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management students.
