Beginning August 25, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s (DLS-CSB) President and Chancellor Br. Dennis Magbanua FSC will be the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of De La Salle University (DLSU). He will serve the remaining term of Br. Ricky Laguda FSC as DLSU’s President and Chancellor.

Br. Ricky Laguda will leave DLSU in light of his election as General Councilor of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools to serve a seven-year term.

However, Br. Magbanua’s service to DLSU does not mean that he’s exiting Benilde.

“With this appointment, I will still continue to fulfill my duties as President and Chancellor of our College. Rest assured that I remain committed to leading Benilde and working with you in achieving our Breakthrough Goals,” said the Br. Dennis.

Furthermore, with his OIC position ending on April 30, 2015, Br. Magbanua will be excluded from the list of nominees for the University’s new President appointment by May 2015.

Br. Magbanua will however be part of the “consultative process of selecting a new President and Chancellor for DLSU” which will be from July 09 to December 09 2014.
