Aiming to showcase the talents, expertise, and passion of the College’s community in the field of arts, the Office of Culture and Arts (OCA) opened the 10th Lasallian Arts month with a flash mob of unique performances from different artist groups under OCA representing the theme, “Thinking outside the box” last February 4.
The month-long event is said to exhibit different acts, performances, and plays which are under FRINGE MNL International Arts Festival, an arts festival that provides opportunities for art organizations to collaborate and perform contemporary art pieces.
The events are Harana by Coro San Benildo, which allows you to hire the College’s corale for a day to serenade your special someone from February 2 to 27 and Mga Kwento ni Lola Basyang on February 11, a children’s play performed by members of Teatro Dagat of Jaime Jilario Integrated School where the College has been conducting workshops for the past five years.
In partnership with SDEAS, “tHeArt BEAT – Deafying limits”, a hip hop performance that aims to widen our views on society, will be conducted by Saint Benilde Romancon Dance Company on February 12 at the SDA Theater. “Harmony of Hearts and Voices, another show of Coro San Benildo, will have two performances on February 13–the matinee show (1 P.M.) with the children’s choir and the gala show (7 P.M.) with the De La Salle University Chorale.
Arts month also includes Crossroads. Now on it’s 12th year, Crossroads is a theater festival competition open to Benildean students, alumni, and personnel. The shows are on February 23 to 27 and March 2 to 5 at the Augusto-Rosario Gonzalez Theater.
