The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) Women’s Badminton Team has once again proved their dominance as they went home with the championship cup in their hands for the sixth consecutive year at the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Season 91 Badminton Championship last September 14, 2015 at Powersmash Court, Makati.

Blazers Gielyn Ochoa and Grezel Alcuitas bannered the College in the women’s doubles division and Allizandra Candelaria and Glyvette Etis in the women’s singles division. Candelaria also managed to clutch in the Most Valuable Player Award of the season. “Finishing as champions 6 in a row confirms our collective efforts.” shares Blazers Badminton coach, Lloyd Escoses, “All our sacrifices paid off,” he added.

As the players bagged awards, Mr. Escoses was also named most outstanding coach of the season for the senior’s division. “It’s just a bonus,” he claims, “a recognition I owe to my fellow coaches and to our Center for Sports Development (CSD) family.” He also shared that there is a big chance of the men’s team bringing home the championship on their next game.

The DLS-CSB men’s team also played in today’s game with Austin Sangalang and Lance Bautista spearheading the men’s singles division, and Ralph Santos and Jigo Libiran in the men’s doubles team. The Blazers will take a shot at redeeming their lost championship last season on the final game on Wednesday, September 16 at Powersmash Court in Makati.
