In line with the announcement of the 2017 graduates’ and batch 113’s yearbook theme: “Perspectives: Dimensions,” The Benildean Yearbook Office (Ad Astra) held a music event exhibiting the music of local bands to officially launch the said yearbook. Benildeans witnessed the kick-off celebration last May 27 at the Augusto Rosario-Gonzales Theater.
Ad Astra invited several bands, some having Benildean members, to perform at their yearbook launch event. Lobo, Space Onigiri, Banna Harbera, Sud together with Jensen and the Flips filled the stage with Original Pilipino Music.
For the 2017 yearbook, Ad Astra’s target is to bring out the best angles of the graduates and unravel their different personalities or “Dimensions.” According to Camille Fresco, Ad Astra’s Content Development Editor, the Office saw various identities of each Benildeans manifested due to fascination in the social media world. Thus, they spearheaded the theme “Perspective: Dimensions.”
“In this yearbook, we want them to show their true colors and bona fide personalities to the Community—taking pride in their persona’s edges which is what makes up a multi-faceted Benildean,” Fresco shared to give a glimpse of what is in store for the upcoming yearbook.
With the use of colored lights and mirrors, the Benildean Yearbook Office aimed to emphasize different perspectives of each graduates showing the greatest qualities and abilities within their dimensions.
“This yearbook aims to get our graduates to reveal all these great and unexpected qualities they have as they step out into the real world. In this way, they’re also leaving Benilde with an impression of who they really are, and what they really want to be known by,” Gabriella Serrano, Ad Astra’s Creative Director added.
Serrano says that the ambition of the Benildean Yearbook Office is to produce a creative and unique output. “This is a yearbook you won’t just want to shelf. We have an art book type of vision for it, so students can expect a beautiful edition full of the 2016-2017 graduating class’ profiles and the CSB community’s most poignant stories presented in a really well-designed way,” Serrano added.
