As a testament to the College’s culture of excellence, two pioneering programs from the School of Management and Information Technology have been granted the highest level of accreditation by an independent accrediting body.
Last December 12, the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP), through the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU), granted Level IV accreditation to Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration – Human Resource Management and BS Business Administration – Export Management.
In a Facebook post by SMIT Dean Dr. Edward Moises last December 13, the news was shared to the community with a photo of the faxed message noting the said accreditation on the two programs.
In addition, according to the announcement of PAASCU, the College’s accreditation of the two programs is valid until May 2021.
Aside from the recently granted programs, the College currently maintains other PAASCU accredited programs namely BS Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management (Level IV), BS Business Administration major in Computer Applications (Level II), Bachelor of Arts Multimedia Arts (Level I), BS in Business Administration major in Business Administration & Marketing Management (Level I), and BS Information Systems (Level I).

The Level IV Accreditation is the highest grant given by the PAASCU to degree programs, signifying the program is aligned with international standards. According to De La Salle University’s (DLSU) website, Level IV accredited status means the said program is considered to be highly respected in the academia and commands prestige and authority comparable to similar programs in notable foreign universities.
The following are benefits and incentives of a Level IV accreditation:
- All the benefits for Level I, II, and III. To see full list of benefits, please refer to http://www.dlsu.edu.ph/offices/iaa/paascu/.
- Grant of full autonomy for the program for the duration of its Level IV accredited status.
- Authority to offer new graduate programs allied to existing level four courses, open learning/distance education and extension classes without need for prior approval by CHED provided that the concerned CHEDRO is duly informed.
