Friends of Animation alumnus Arvin Jezer Gagui are currently seeking financial help from the Benildean-Lasallian community to donate money for the treatment of Gagui’s skin cancer and an undifferentiated tumor.

“Arvin is a genuine person with a very kind heart. A loving son, a generous friend and a very bright and talented young Artist who has a great promising future in the creative industry. Someone who is passionate about his craft and willing to share his knowledge. Not only is he skilled and creatively talented, but he has compassion and heart for what he does,” Kendrick Pingkian, the author of the GoGetFunding page and one of Gagui’s friends, said.

The biopsy was released on February 4 and other complications of his condition include a Shoulder Joint Tuberculosis that was diagnosed last year. The page mentions that 22-year-old Gagui has had three major operations and two minor operations.

According to the fundraising page, he graduated as a magna cum laude. He is currently under a procedure called Thoracentesis wherein excess fluid from the lungs is removed.

He has been confined since January 10, 2019 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Pampanga

According to the page, Gagui has won several awards for his works, such as:

  • Metro Manila Film Festival 2016 – Best Screenplay, Mitatang (Short Animated Film)
  • Los Angeles Philippine International Film Festival 2016 – Official Selection, Mitatang (Short Animated Film)
  • Benilde Animation Festival 2016 – Outstanding Benildean Student Award

Donations for Gagui can be collected online via Paypal or through banks. Details of the bank accounts and on the state of the Benildean alumnus can be found on the GoGetFunding page.
