Filipino musician No Rome (Rome Gomez), who studied Music Production at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), became the first Filipino to perform at Coachella last April 12, at California, USA. Gomez sang his hit song ‘Narcissist’ alongside indie pop-alternative band The 1975.

2018 was a breakout year for Gomez, releasing his third EP RIP Indo Hisashi under the label in collaboration with The 1975’s lead Matty Healy and band drummer George Daniel.

“Rome kind of became a bit of a muse of mine once I was working on his stuff and then his ideas were on parallel with everything that me and George were doing. I just wanted that energy in the studio you know and he’s been with us before. We’ve been making the record for six months together so he’s just been there working away,” Healy said in an interview with music radio station Beats 1 relating to his friendship with Gomez.

The 1975 will return to Manila on September 11 this year for their album tour of A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships. Gomez will be joining the English band.

With big artists such as Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, and Tame Impala headlining the massive music festival, Coachella is also a place for breakthrough artists such as bedroom pop queen Clairo, indie rock band Wallows, Billie Eilish, and No Rome to showcase their own music and make a name for themselves.

Gomez studied Music Production in the College but he dropped out to pursue his music career.
