With confusion between past and present lovers, El Mar De Sangre (The Sea of Blood), directed by actor and Virgin Labfest festival head Tuxqs Rutaquio and adaptation by multi-awarded playwright Layeta Bucoy, highlights the situation of how someone deals with infatuation, regrets, and true love ideologies in preparation for married life.

With support from the Instituto Cervantes de Manila, this Filipino adaptation of  Spanish poet and playwright Frederico Lorca‘s Bodas De Sangre (Blood Wedding)—El Mar de Sangre is under the production of De La Salle-College Saint Benilde’s (DLS-CSB) 116 Theater Arts students.

As waves of the past come back, answers will be revealed as characters search for the true meaning of love to be portrayed. Located at the islands divided by the sea, the plot revolves around a community that awaits for marriage wherein the bride is about to marry a groom that she does not desire.

The play has 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. shows on July 3 to 6 and July 10 to 13 at the 5/F School of Design and Arts (SDA) Theater, DLS-CSB.

The stage production is open to the public. Ticket prices are Php 350 (students, PWD, and senior citizens),  Php 500 (regular fee), and Php 800 (Gala Night on July 6, 7 p.m.).
