In celebration of Pride month, Animo Apparels, a lifestyle apparel brand founded by a Benilde alumna, released a new clothing collection called #AnimoPride. The collection includes a shirt and a cap sporting rainbow colors harmonized with the Lasallian star and “Animo” battle cry.
Although Animo Apparels “is not an official University merchandise nor affiliated with, funded, or in any way associated with De La Salle or any university/college,” its founder Cherry Lim said she used the iconic Lasallian trademark symbol as a reminder of the Lasallian values, as well as the act of inclusivity towards every individual.
“No matter who we are, we are extraordinary in our own different ways,” Lim, a Multimedia Arts graduate of the College, said in an interview with The Benildean.
In addition, Lim also hopes the collection brings a safe space in communities, reminding everyone of their own uniqueness.
“I hope that [the collection] channels a safe loving to remind us that everyone matters [in] their own unique colors,” she said.
The #AnimoPride collection is now accepting pre-orders for their embroidered design shirt (Php 350) and pride cap (Php 250).
