The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) Lady Blazers succumbed to the Adamson University (AdU) Lady Falcons, 18-25, 25-14, 17-25, 15-25, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Collegiate Conference, earlier today, October 6, at FilOil Flying V Centre, San Juan. 

Despite the combined efforts of Lady Blazers Klarissa Abriam, Michelle Gamit, and Gayle Pascual, the ladies in green and white struggled in the opening set as Lady Falcons Lucille Almonte and Lorene Toring fueled up their attacks contributing 15 points and 12 points, respectively, 18-25.

The Lady Blazers started to keep up with the momentum as Cloanne Mondonedo was put on deck during the second canto, contributing eight points and two serves. Meanwhile, Pascual contributed 10 points and 13 excellent digs, leading the team to seal the set, 25-14.

Down to the last two sets of the match, Lady Blazers Pascual and Gamit continued to defend their side of the court. However, the attacks of Lady Falcons Ceasa Pinar and Rizza Cruz were on point which resulted in the Taft squad to lose their rhythm in the game.

Despite the efforts of the Lady Blazers, Lady Falcon top scorer Trisha Genesis was unstoppable as she went on with her continuous attacks, contributing 20 points, lifting her team one step closer to the championship title, 17-25, 15-25. 

On October 9, the DLS-CSB Lady Blazers will be facing the UAAP Women’s Volleyball defending champion Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Lady Eagles to fight for third place. Game 1 of the finals, featuring the Lady Falcons and the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses, will be on the same date at the same venue.
