Weightlifting superstar Hidilyn Diaz snatches 3 gold medals in 2020 Weightlifting World Cup


Benildean Hidilyn Diaz bagged three gold medals after winning the 55-kilogram women’s division in the 2020 Weightlifting World Cup.

Filipina weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz won three gold medals after dominating the 55-kilogram women’s category, yesterday, Jan. 28 in the 2020 Weightlifting World Cup held at Rome, Italy.

 

The Business Management student and 2016 Olympic silver medalist lifted a total of 212 kilograms after finishing 93 kilograms in snatch and 119 kilograms in clean and jerk category.

 

Following Diaz, Ukraine’s Kamila Konotop nabbed the silver medal after lifting a combined weight of 196 kilograms with 90 kilograms in snatch and 106 kilograms in clean and jerk. Meanwhile, Tunisia’s Nouha Landoulsi was given the bronze medal by lifting a total of 194 kilograms with 86 in snatch and 108 kilograms in clean and jerk.

 

Diaz is enroute to qualify in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
