De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), through the Project Safe Shelter, will convert classrooms in the Taft Campus into shelter for the Philippines General Hospital’s (PGH) healthcare workers who need physical rest and recuperation, as well as to provide hospitality among front liners starting Monday, April 13.
Through the partnership of different Lasallian schools in the Philippines with “Project Safe Shelter,” Lasallian schools have provided shelter to health care workers across the country, among these schools are La Salle Green Hills with The Medical City, De La Salle University with Ospital ng Maynila, and starting April 13, DLS-CSB will open also its doors to PGH’s health care workers to provide hospitality and relief to about 60 front liners in need of physical rest and recuperation.
Classrooms, restrooms and other facilities of Taft Campus will be allocated for the use of the guests on the duration of their stay. The College assures the Benildean community that it will strictly follow protocols in safety and hygiene including the use of decontamination booths.
“This decision to house health care workers of PGH is but a small expression of our appreciation and concern for those who continue to sacrifice so much for all of us. I pray that everyone in the school community will support,” Benilde President Br. Edmundo L. Fernandez FSC said in an email to the Benildean community.
The project is headed by Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Student Life Neil Pariñas and ably supported by Vice President for Administration David Terence Tiu and Director of the Center for Emergency Management, Safety and Security BGen. Lito Tabangcura.
The Benildean community is encouraged to support the project through GCASH. Procedure for in kind donations will be announced in another mail.
Procedure of donation are as follows:
