NCAA 96: Blazers cop gold and silver medals in men’s speed kicking middleweight division


Blazers Matthew Cloyd Roxas and JV Anthony Villaron bagged the gold and silver medals respectively in the men’s middleweight category of speed kicking event, earlier today, June 28.

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Blazers Matthew Cloyd Roxas and JV Anthony Villaron secured the top two podium finishes in the Men’s Middleweight Division of Speed Kicking Event earlier today, June 28, on GMA’s GTV channel.

Blazer Matthew Cloyd Roxas secured the gold after he showcased jumping sidekicks and high kicks that are a major parameter in speed kicking events, garnering a score of 6.408. Meanwhile, Blazer JV Anthony Villaron bagged the silver medal with a score of 6.383, with Arellano University’s (AU) Terence Ciriaco claiming the bronze with 6.033 points.

San Beda University’s (SBU) Gabriel Teruel claimed fourth place after he scored 5.992. San Sebastian College-Recoletos’ (SSC-R) John Azriel Reyes came up next with 5.900 points, followed by Colegio de San Juan de Letran’s (CSJL) John Queneth Deniel Malaga with a score of 5.867. 

Following this, San Sebastian College-Recoletos’ (SSC-R) Josephose Glomo placed seventh with 5.792, while Jared Dennis Pasiliao of Arellano Chiefs placed last with 5.233 points.

The Blazers will continue to compete in the speed kicking category tomorrow, June 29, at 3:00 p.m. via GTV.

Arellano University: 6.033 (Ciriaco)
