Stand in solidarity for student rights in this year’s UP Fair Cosmos online benefit concert

Don’t miss out on another explosive celebration into the stars, advocating for the safe resumption of classes, and the protection of indigenous schools this coming Feb. 5 and March 5! #MissionCosmos #GetCosmic

Organized by the UP Junior Marketing Association (UP JMA), a myriad of emerging Filipino talents awaits aygiences at this year’s Cosmos: An OPM Festival. The universe-spanning celebrations will feature Cosmic Clash, a Battle of the Bands pre-event (Feb. 5), and an online benefit concert (March 5), to be live-streamed on the UP Fair Cosmos official Facebook page.

Currently, UP JMA, the duly recognized university-wide organization of the University of the Philippines-Diliman (UP-D) College of Business Administration (CBA), is in partnership with Save Our Schools Network, composed of child-focused non-government organizations (NGOs) advocating for children’s educational rights. With the network’s advocacy in adhering to basic human rights such as children’s rights, the right to education, and self-determination一some initiatives are book launches, peaceful protests, and informative webinars.

As a staunch supporter of education for all, UP JMA is in partnership with the “Bakwit School” project, a mobile school for Lumad students. The project aims to bring learning platforms for displaced individuals, particularly the youth in the indigenous communities from 178 Lumad schools caused by violent attacks and militarization.

Wonders of the cosmos

Reaching over 200,000 viewers on its Cosmos Festival virtual celebration the previous year, Cosmos has continuously grown from its members, networks, and partnered organizations. The festival has brought a one-of-a-kind celebration for a cause, both inside and outside the UP community.

In 2020, Cosmos: UP Fair Friday garnered 16,000 attendees with 20 bands and sold-out tickets. The Cosmos: OPM Festival 2021, on the other hand, had raised over P500,000 that peaked with over 60,000 viewers from the live stream.

This year, be one of the advocates in breaking barriers to education with flickering hope to achieve #MapagpalayangEdukasyon through the world of Cosmos.

Be in the loop on all things UP Fair Cosmos and check out their socials on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. #CosmosOPMFest
