University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) Babaylan, an LGBTQIA+ students' advocacy and support group, will showcase the exuberant artistry of drag with this year’s “Drag Den IV: Unite for Love,” highlighting a myriad of political and social issues—from misogyny to state oppression. In partnership with UPLB’s University Student Council (USC), the event will be live streamed on the UP February Fair 2022 official Facebook page, on Feb. 25 from 6:30 p.m to 8 p.m.
United we stand
With the theme “Unite for Love: Sama-samang Hindi Mashoshokot,” stand in solidarity against inequality, discrimination, and oppression to vulnerable sectors. This February, UPLB Babaylan has joined the One Billion Rising movement that adheres to end violence to women and gender-fluid identities in the status quo.
The One Billion Rising is a global campaign that started in February 2012. Every February, the campaign hopes to put an end to rape and violence against women, as well as shed light on the rampant cases of impunity and injustice.
UPLB Babaylan promotes zero discrimination for people regardless of their gender, ethnicity, status, race, sexual orientation, and political beliefs. The organization calls upon a collection action through the digital platform.
