The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) targets the opening of its 97th season on March 26 tentatively at the La Salle Greenhills gymnasium.

The NCAA plans to have live sports events for the senior men’s basketball and women’s volleyball. This will be the first time these events will open their doors once again after the two-year halt due to the lockdowns brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, with the community quarantine lowering its restriction to Alert Level 1, some NCAA schools are taking time to prepare before the games through training in-bubble and coordinating with UAAP schools to strategize on their next games.

Additionally, Benildean athletes have also started their training in the Benilde sports complex.

“We are hoping the restrictions ease up by the start of March, and that would give us blanket authority to hold tune-up games,” NCAA management committee member Peter Cayco stated in an interview with Manila Bulletin.
