The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) Lady Blazers were overpowered by the Far Eastern University (FEU) Lady Tamaraws as they ended their Shakey’s Super League Pre-Season Championship campaign with a loss, 1-3, on Nov. 3 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Malate, Manila.

Christine Ubaldo and Jazlyn Ellarina led the Lady Tamaraws as they sent multiple attacks across the net to counter any attempts by the Lady Blazers. The Taft Squad had Mycah Go and Mary Grace Borromeo at their helm as they broke through the Morayta Squad’s defense and snatched the set in their favor after a nail-biting battle, 25-21.

The second set was another seesaw battle as the green and white duo of Wielyn Estoque and Clyde Catarig attempted to replicate their success in the first set. However, Alyzza Devosora of the Morayta squad was on guard and ensured that another set snatch would be attempted, 20-25

Meanwhile, Lady Tamaraws’ Chenie Tagaod and Gerzel Petallo made the third and fourth set a challenge for the Lady Blazers as they became instrumental in their plays. Rhea Densing and Zamantha Nolasco stood up to the challenge as they defended and sent attacks from Taft. Unfortunately, the Lady Blazers were outgunned in the third and fourth sets as they failed to block the undefeated Lady Tamaraws from their semis berth, with the set scores of 17-25 on both sets.

The Lady Blazers’ loss marks the end of their Shakey’s Super League Pre-Season Championship campaign.

Set Scores:

CSB (1) vs FEU (3): 25-21, 20-25, 17-25, 17-25
