Founded in 2013, this year’s Art Fair Philippines succeeded in liberating its audience from the ropes of normality as it exhibits myriad artworks spearing through the comprehension and understanding of most—all thanks to its partnering galleries and talented artists displaying aggressive to explicit connotations of artworks showing their artistic excellence.

Entering the event, Art Fair invited its audience to join their activities and talks that help in creating a more in-depth perspective of the artworks.

“ArtFairPH/Project” features the special works of the founder of Minimalism and Conceptualism, Sol LeWitt; Filipino Modern & Contemporary painter Jaime de Guzman; Bacolod-based visual artist and sculptor Perry Argel; visual artist Jellyfish Kisses; and Baguio-based textile artist Carlo Villafuerte. “ArtFairPH/Photo” then introduces the viewers to the works of Contemporary Artist Poklong Anading; US-born photographers Denise Weldon and Tom Epperson; Silverlens Photo and bio|trans|forms.

Simultaneously, the “ArtFairPH/OpenStudios” held a series of workshops and demonstrations which are hosted by respected professionals in the fields of arts. With the mission to develop the minds of the audiences for contemporary art, “ArtFairPH/Talks” presented speakers from the Ateneo Art Gallery and the Museum Foundation of the Philippines.

Now, in light of celebrating the 100 years of Philippine Cinema, “ArtFairPH/Film” together with film composer Erwin Romulo, film critic Philbert Dy, and film archivist and historian Teddy Co, let its audience see how cinema evolves by conducting a film-screening of multiple movies coming from The Unconfined Cinema of Art Fair Philippines.

Winning the hearts of its audience, a few exhibits stood out among the others. Pieces from “Georgia on my Mind” by Julie Lluch, a 3D piece in the shape of a vagina; Cian Dayrit’s “Ego,” a framed collection of semen on paper notes; Jellyfish kisses’ fantasy-dreamlike playground filled with soft sculptures wherein event-goers are encouraged to sew pieces of cloth to the hanging dolls; “Opera – Screaming Faces” by Gabriel Barredo that embodies how humans are in a constant state of chaos—-Screaming to cope with life.

Further, the galleries and artists from all over the world who have participated in the Art Fair Philippines like Singapore-based Art Porters Gallery; Taipei-based gallery Gallerie Ovo; Makati-based gallery Tin-aw Art Gallery; Pasay-based gallery, Art Cube Philippines; Negros Occidental-based gallery Orange Project; Alabang-based gallery GalerieRoberto and other artists such as Filipino sculptress Julie Lluch; has changed the game of Art selling and collecting making this event an art connoisseur can’t miss.

Overall, Art Fair Philippines 2020 holds an array of avid artworks with themes stemming from the internal ordeals of artists in which is broadcasted to art-admirers of their craft. Event-goers immersed themselves beyond the meaning of these masterpieces as they bring their censures and opinions at play. An experience of exercising one’s own interpretation of another’s work is a definite interaction they will have when admiring the skill of these artists.

In partnership with Siamese Design Studio, Jojo Gloria Photography, Locsin Architecture, Artwork Philippines, EPSON, Drea Estrellado, and E.Murio Manila, the event encouraged art accessibility to all of its viewers for appreciating its diverse yet finest set of modern and contemporary artworks.
